Seomra 4 are back!

The boys and girls in Seomra 4 returned to the classroom after nine weeks of remote learning. The children had a busy, but enjoyable week settling back into the school routine. We spent the first day familiarising ourselves with our classroom routines and rules, and of course catching up with our friends.

We discussed remote learning, and all that the children had learned over the nine weeks. We have proudly displayed the amazing project work that the children completed. Check out some of the work in the pictures below.

On Monday and Tuesday pupils wore green to Celebrate our Patron Saint, St. Patrick. We learned about his early life and his time spent spreading the word of God. We made St. Patrick's day badges and also created some beautiful Celtic designs as well.

We are learning all about Farm Safety and had lots of discussions about how to keep safe on a farm, we took part in a Safe schools webinar about farm safety and the children really enjoyed the topic. Over the coming weeks we will continue to discuss Farm safety in more detail.

In religion we learned all about Holy week and Easter, the pupils completed group projects which we have on display in our classroom. On Thursday we carried out an Easter Egg hunt which was great fun and a nice treat.

The pupils, parents, guardians and staff in Scoil Mhuire made a huge effort for Daffodil Day on Friday and raised an amazing €805.70 for a wonderful cause. We are very proud of everyone and very thankful for the generosity shown. We decorated our classroom with daffodils and drew some beautiful daffodils to mark the day. Pupils also dressed in yellow or orange clothes. It was a bright and colourful day!

We ended the term with some hot chocolate, rice krispie buns, and a movie. We had such a nice day that we forgot to take any photographs!!

All that is left to say is a big well done to all pupils on their first two weeks back at school. I wish you all a happy and safe Easter and I look forward to seeing you on the 12th of April.

Happy Easter!
