Seomra 1 is Back

After seven weeks of remote learning, it was a delight to welcome Rang a Dó and Rang a Trí back into Room One this week. The children had a busy, but enjoyable week settling back into the school routine.

Ms Martin is thrilled to say that there has been lots of fun, laughter and good humour shared by the children each day this week. In between all the catching up and giggles, the children managed to complete some wonderful work too.

Patchwork Quilts of Calm

At the beginning of the week, the boys and girls described their experiences of remote learning. Ms Martin and the children explored the mixed emotions felt by everybody and examined the highs and lows of that time. The children identified some of the ways to deal with strong feelings in a helpful way and listed them on their very own patchwork quilts displayed below.

World Book Day

World Book Day was celebrated on Thursday, 4th March. The children shared their favourite book with the class group. Ms Martin and the pupils discussed the importance of an attractive book cover and its features. Following this, the children designed their very own cover for a book of their choice. There are definitely some authors and illustrators of the future amongst Seomra 1. Check them out below.

Remote Learning Projects

Ms Martin proudly displayed some of the work completed remotely in the classroom. The children have been presenting their research projects daily to the class. Everybody has learned new facts from one and other. Ms Martin has even learned a thing or two.

Overall Ms Martin and the children had an excellent first week back in school. Thumbs up all round.

Ms Martin is so happy to see all the bright and smiling faces in school again and already cannot wait for Monday.
