Congratulations Room 1

Ms Martin would like to acknowledge the level of pupil engagement, participation and high standard of work completed by Rang a Dó and Rang a Trí at home during this school term. While Ms Martin has always applauded the great work of her class, this term the children truly deserve a standing ovation. Ms Martin would also like to commend and express her sincere thanks to all the múinteoirí at home for their commitment to remote learning to date. Please take a moment to give yourselves a big ‘bualadh bos’ and a well deserved pat on the back.
Scroll down to view some of the remarkable research projects, amazing art pieces, super stories and magnificent maths work completed by some of the children from Room 1. Ms Martin is so proud of each of the children in her class and cannot wait to be reunited in school soon.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Hi boys and girls! Here are some photos I received of you looking after your wellbeing! Well done for taking some time out to look after your mental and physical wellbeing, it is so important during this difficult time. And thank you for taking the time to send the photos to me. I have loved receiving them; they made me smile so much so thank you for looking after my wellbeing too! Happy Friday, have a lovely weekend! Take care and stay safe, Ms Ormiston.

Nollaig Shona from the Junior and Senior Infants

 A chairde,

As you may know the junior and senior infants were hard at work learning some lovely Christmas songs! They learned 'Féach an Leanbh Íosa' (Away in a Manger), 'Bualadh Bos' (Jingle Bells) and 'Walking in the Air' from the film 'The Snowman' in Makaton sign language.

Unfortunately, families weren't able to attend the traditional Christmas concert or play, which is a very special occasion. In lieu of that, we recorded the three songs in the classroom on Tuesday so that you can get a front row seat for their performance! They did a beautiful job and should be very proud of themselves.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and New Year.

Fan slán,

Clíona.

Snowball the Elf

We had a very special visitor to room 2 during the month of December. Our elf arrived all the way from the North Pole. We read a letter that our elf brought us and the children decided to name our elf 'Snowball'.

Snowball's first week in room 2 was spent in quarantine where he had a great view of all the boys and girls in the classroom. When Snowball was finally free to explore, he brought the children a lovely chocolate advent calendar to say hello! Each morning, Snowball was found in a different spot in the classroom. Snowball was cheeky, clever and full of mischief. Snowball and room three's elf  'Sticky' became the best of friends and were often found together getting up to all sorts of tricks!!

We have had great fun searching for Snowball each morning and he even helped us out with some marshmallows so that we could have our very own hot chocolate party.

We have been so lucky to have an Elf in our classroom this year and we wish Snowball and Sticky a happy Christmas and a safe return to the North Pole!

Check out what Snowball has gotten up to since his first arrival!
