Hot Chocolate Party in Room 1

Ms Martin was delighted to host a Hot Chocolate Party today after the class received all 20 marshmallows on their Reward Chart. The boys and girls worked as hard as elves over the last few weeks to earn this sweet treat. It was a magical afternoon filled with lots of chocolate treats and giggles!

Hot Chocolate Party

Ms Malone set a wonderful challenge for the boys and girls in room 2 for the month of December and what a treat it turned out to be. The boys and girls had to achieve twenty marshmallows to fill a hot chocolate mug in order to receive their very own HOT CHOCOLATE PARTY!!

Snowball our classroom elf also helped the children out by adding an extra few marshmallows so a big thank you goes to our very own Snowball too. We settled down after lunch and enjoyed a relaxing evening full of hot chocolate, treats along with our Chrsitmas movie 'The Grinch'.

Fiona, Ms Martin and Ms Malone also joined in on the fun!

Well done to everyone, you all truly deserved it! Have a wonderful Christmas ๐Ÿ’“

Christmas Art in Room 1

The children were very busy these last few weeks engaging in various Christmas art activities.

The pupils designed Christmas carol singers and wreaths using fabrics and fibres. They also constructed colourful Christmas baubles to hang on their Christmas trees.

All of the art pieces were 'snow' good! Check them out below. A ma-ho-ho-ho-sive well done to all the boys and girls.

4th & 5th Class in Room 3 have been as busy as Santa's elves in the run up to Christmas!!!

In literacy,  we have focusing on creative writing and we had some great stories about the day in a life of an elf and also a disaster in the North Pole!! We also wrote some poems  about Christmas. Ms Clarke also set us a task of naming the A-Z of Christmas. We had great fun doing this and we eventually got a word for z!

In Art, we focused on light and dark and shading. We created a winter scene using just black card and white chalk. We thought that it would be very tricky but it was actually very easy!

We also used oil pastels to create a Christmas Through the Window scene. We think that our art turned out great!

It was great that we got to put away our uniforms and get into the spirit of Christmas by wearing Christmas colours and jumpers to school for a whole week. We enjoyed the Christmas jumper day and we were glad that we were able to raise money for Crumlin Children's Hospital. We could not believe it when Ms Ormiston announced that the whole school and staff had raised over €450. Well done everyone!

For the topic of Winter we learned all about the aimsir in Gaeilge.  We learned a poem about an Fear Sneachta . In art, we made 3D snowmen and snowmen using fabric and fibre.
