Whole School Project - Native Irish Birds/Birds

Whole School Project - Birds!
In Week 4 of 'Remote Learning' the boys and girls of Scoil Mhuire were challenged to study and research birds in Ireland. It is the time of year that our feathered friends need our help as it can sometimes be quite cold and the ground can be too hard for the birds to find food. These amazing creatures are all around us, come in all shapes, sizes and colours, make interesting sounds, and of course they can fly.
So what better time to research! There was a whole lot of bird spotting going on around Moynalty!!!!
We received lots of interesting projects on lots of fascinating birds. The facts were flowing! Isn't the art work fabulous?! I am sure you will agree that they are just fantastic.👏 Well done to all the boys and girls from Junior Infants right up to 6th class.
As an extra challenge, the boys and girls were also set the task to make a bird feeder to help attract birds into their gardens. We have a future of fantastic engineers on our hands in Scoil Mhuire Moynalty!

Hi boys and girls! Here are some photos I received of you looking after your wellbeing! Well done for taking some time out to look after your mental and physical wellbeing, it is so important during this difficult time. And thank you for taking the time to send the photos to me. I have loved receiving them; they made me smile so much so thank you for looking after my wellbeing too! Happy Friday, have a lovely weekend! Take care and stay safe, Ms Ormiston.

Nollaig Shona from the Junior and Senior Infants

 A chairde,

As you may know the junior and senior infants were hard at work learning some lovely Christmas songs! They learned 'Féach an Leanbh Íosa' (Away in a Manger), 'Bualadh Bos' (Jingle Bells) and 'Walking in the Air' from the film 'The Snowman' in Makaton sign language.

Unfortunately, families weren't able to attend the traditional Christmas concert or play, which is a very special occasion. In lieu of that, we recorded the three songs in the classroom on Tuesday so that you can get a front row seat for their performance! They did a beautiful job and should be very proud of themselves.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and New Year.

Fan slán,

ClĂona.
