Seachtain na Gaeilge - Dé Céadaoin

Dia dhaoibh! Bhí críoch álainn againn do Sheachtain na Gaeilge. Chaith gach duine rud éigin glas agus bhí damhsa ar bun i ngach seomra! Bhain muid an-sult as Seachtain na Gaeilge an bhliain seo agus tá muid ag súil leis an chéad cheann eile!

Hello all! We had a lovely end to Seachtain na Gaeilge. Everyone wore something green and there was dancing in every classroom! We really enjoyed Seachtain na Gaeilge this year and we're looking forward to the next one!

Maths and Magnetic Magic - Junior Infants

 Maths and Magnets

In maths we have been learning all about numbers 1 to 5 and we have learned how to put them in the correct order using a human number line!

In Science we had fun investigating what materials were best for sticking to a magnet.

Celebrating World Book Day in Junior Infants

World Book Day - Pyjama Day

To celebrate World Book Day the boys and girls in Scoil Mhuire were allowed to come to school in their pyjama's! We were also allowed to bring in our favourite books and our special teddies. We listened to Ms Clarke read some of the books that the Junior Infants bought into share. We really enjoyed listening to each others stories. Later in the afternoon, Ms Ormiston had organised a very special treat for us - hot chocolate and cookies. What a brilliant day at school. We wish that everyday was a pyjama day!!

Valentine's Day

We celebrated Valentines Day in Room 6 by making some love bugs so that we could spread our love. We made our lovebugs during Finger Gym. We coloured in and then cut out hearts and placed them together to make a bug.

Valentine's Day Art
For art we talked about all the ways in which we can show love. We then had a discussion on what colours we thought represented love. We decided that red, pink and purple were the colours that we thought best suited love. We then printed the word love onto white paper. First we cut out the letters of LOVE. We blue-tacked the letters down on white paper. Then we used sponges to print over the letters. When the paint was dry, we then took off the letters and we were left with the word LOVE outlined on our paper. We really enjoyed this printing experience.
