December has
been a very busy month for the children in Seomra 4. We have really been
getting into the Festive Spirit!
On December 1st
we learned all about Advent. We put together a classroom display, created some
beautiful Advent Wreaths and made an Advent ‘kindness’ calendar.
In Art we
created some fantastic Christmas scenes and constructed Christmas Cribs (which
I’m sure you will agree, look amazing!).
In English we
read the novel ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens. We had lots of
discussions about the true meaning of Christmas and decided that it would be
nice to write a letter of thanks to our parents for everything they do for us!
Dabbledoo Music produced a wonderful Carol Service and we enjoyed taking part in it.
On wet days,
when we didn’t get outside for break, we watched the movie ‘Angela’s Christmas
Wish’.
On the last day of school before the holidays we had a big Christmas Quiz and watched the movie ‘Home Alone’ while enjoying some hot chocolate!!
