In Junior Infants, as part of
Religion and SPHE, we decided to get involved in the Team Hope Shoebox Appeal. We watched a video from last year showing all
the children receiving their shoeboxes and wanted to share our love with them
this year. We each brought in something
for the shoeboxes; toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, colouring books, markers, copies,
pencils, flip flops, sunglasses, hats, toys, teddies, sweets and lots of other
items too. Teacher couldn’t believe how
generous we all were, we filled 5 boxes full! Two boys in our class even filled
their own shoebox each with their family which was very kind and generous of
them. Ms Ormiston dropped off our Christmas
Shoebox gifts and Team Hope will deliver
them right into the hands of some of the world’s most vulnerable children –
many of whom will receive no other gift this Christmas. For some it’s the first
gift they’ve ever received.
It’s hope, it’s God’s love, it’s
joy and excitement – It’s
the whole of Christmas wrapped up in a Shoebox!
