Junior and Senior Infants - September 2016

Junior and Senior Infants - September News

Junior Infants made a great start to school, making new freinds and having fun. September was a busy month. We all learned lots about the themes of 'School' and 'Myself', had a visit from Maperath Farm and started 'Finger Gym'. Here are pictures of some of the activities we completed during our first few weeks back at school.

Maths activities

Junior Infants completed lots of activities based on matching, sorting and classifying. Senior Infants revised sorting and classifying, aswell as revising numbers 0-5.

Music activites

We have been learning lots of songs and poems this month. Our favourite song that we learned was "When I was one....". We practised singing the song and finding the beat of it. When we were confident clapping out the beat of the song, we added instruments. It was great fun!

Finger Gym

We started Finger Gym activity stations this month with Mrs. Ward and Ms. Clarke. Everyday, we participate in different stations to help us make our hands and fingers stronger. This will help us with our fine motor skills. Activities included are cutting and sticking, playdough, tearing, painting, using peg boards, jumbo lacing boards, tweezer and peg games, lacing and tracing. We are really enjoying all of the activities so far.

Visit from Maperath Farm

We were very lucky to get a special visit from Maperath Farm this month. We got to meet lots of the farm animals and learned lots about animals on the farm.
