The children in Room 1 have been exploring 'Sounds' in Music lessons this past month. This week, all the boys and girls engaged in a listening and responding activity in the school yard. The children listened, identified and recorded environmental sounds. They also discussed the qualities of these sounds. Ms Martin was very impressed with the children's effective listening skills.

All the boys and girls in Room 1 enjoyed a nature walk around the school grounds this week. The sun was shining and it was the perfect day to explore. All the children observed different aspects of the natural environment and spotted signs of autumn along the way. Check out the young geographers in action!

Welcome Back Seomra 4
On August 27th we returned to school, after being off since March. It is not our typical school year. Our school is separated into bubbles. We have to go home at different times. We are learning about how to keep our distance and how to keep good hand hygiene. We are not allowed to move around the classroom as much and we all have our own individual box for books.
Teachers have to wear a mask at all times and our desks have been moved 1 metre apart. There can only be two people at each desk and we must use our class exit door to come in and out of the classroom.
Our goal for this year is to overcome the Corona Virus and get back to playing sport in school.
We hope that even with all of the changes in school; that this is the best year yet in Scoil Mhuire.
